The Hyatt’s chilly interior made for a more comfortable experience, but there were some navigational hiccups. Signage directing attendees between the Hyatt and Hilton could’ve been clearer, and the cold weather didn’t make the walk between buildings any more appealing.
Event Schedule
Blerdcon’s event schedule had its hits and misses. While there were some incredible panels, the overlap between events, particularly the featured panels like Iyanu, Daredevil, and Janelle Monáe, made it nearly impossible to catch everything. They may want to unfortunately try to do fewer panels next year to ensure optimal support and coordination with the event staff. More panels mean more places that need assistance simultaneously, and staffing is limited, with a portion being volunteers.
Special Guests and Vendors
The star power was undeniable—Janelle Monáe, Reed Shannon, Adesua Etomi, Roye Okupe, Cookie Kawaii, and more graced the event, making the guest list feel bigger than ever. Plus, the diverse range of unique vendors made the experience even more enriching.

Crowd Control

A little more signage and clearer paths would’ve improved the experience, but the cooler weather helped mitigate some of the congestion as attendees spread out between buildings.
Weather & Vibe Adjustment
A major shift this year was the move from the sweltering heat of July to the more temperate March weather. For convention-goers, this was a godsend. No longer were we sweltering under the summer sun, making the experience far more comfortable. Cosplayers, especially, benefited from the temperature change—costumes that would’ve been unbearable in the summer heat could be worn comfortably. The cooler weather also enhanced the social vibe outside the convention halls, allowing for spontaneous meetups without the suffocating heat of previous years.
Blerdcon’s community remains one of its standout features. Whether it was impromptu dance circles, cosplay showcases, or late-night gaming sessions, the energy was electric. It’s a place where you don’t just attend an event—you become a part of the culture. That kind of environment is hard to beat.
