Revolt World: The Blerd Experience

An Unmatched Atmosphere

In my first experience attending Revolt World, I can easily say it’s unlike anything I’ve ever been to. I’ve done festivals like Lollapalooza and conventions like DreamCon, but Revolt World found unique ways to blend the two. At a music festival, you vibe with artists you love while discovering new ones, all in rapid succession. That was exactly what day one felt like. Coi Leray, an artist I’m a huge fan of, was performing alongside Lady London, Bia, and Flo Milli—all incredibly talented women in the rap game. But at the same time, Drink Champs with N.O.R.E., DJ EFN, and Method Man was going down too.

You can imagine the struggle—having to choose between one of the original blerds (whether he knows it or not) and an amazing lineup of female rap talent. But thanks to the well-thought-out layout of Revolt World (and being part of the staff for the event, which helped me skip some lines), I managed to catch a bit of both. It was moments like this that really defined my Revolt World experience—having to juggle between the endless options of dope content.

Blerds and Fae Magic in Full Effect

A big part of my time at Revolt World was supporting our Blerd.com crew and our team of fae cosplayers. We had some incredible people with us: Black Fae Day Originator Jasmine La Fluer, Lexa-Chan, Janelle Allayah, Naomi “KoochieKu” Munroe, Kai Black, PinkieSen, and Felisha “Ink’Queen” Ferguson. Balancing supporting them and working our other responsibilities was a mission in itself. We partnered with The Insights TeamLynzie Riebling, Christa Shelmon, and Manny Minaya—who had the insight (see what I did there?) to recognize that fae culture could be an interesting addition to the Revolt World space. They worked with us at Blerd.com to gather survey data and hand out samples of a new lip gloss to attendees. It was a big ask for our mostly introverted crew, but with the support of Revolt World’s incredible team we made it work. Our friends over at EKANAMI Projectz and Take a Flickk helped us capture some amazing moments throughout the weekend.

Saturday: A Blerd’s Paradise

By Saturday, Revolt World was fully in motion. The last thing I expected to see at a music festival was a gaming lounge, but leave it to Mountain Dew to make it happen. Trap Sushi was running the gaming tournaments, hosting panels with creators across the blerd space, and even held a cosplay contest—which our very own Lexa-Chan won, dressed as her Piranha Plant from Mario. The area was magnetic for blerds like us.

And let me tell you, Pusha T’s Masterclass on Building a Lifestyle Brand was super insightful. But my personal highlight? The fae photoshoot we pulled off by the Revolt sign near the entrance. We sprinkled our own pixie dust on the space, and the crowd was all in.

The night ended with an impressive lineup of artists: Rob49, 42 Dugg, Cash Cobain, Key Glock, and Offset. I mean, the energy was wild, and the performances were on point, but the fae photoshoot? That’s a core memory right there.

Sunday: Wrapping Up the Magic

Sunday had a bittersweet vibe—knowing it was the last day made it tough to say goodbye. We spent most of the day hanging with our Blerd × Fae crew, which was a highlight. I explored more of the event space and caught bits of the 3v3 basketball tournament. Right next to that was the food truck area, where McDonald’s free fry truck was definitely a hit. Walmart had an amazing setup, too—giving away products from Black-owned businesses, letting people press custom T-shirts to take home, and even offering a high-quality photo booth.

I didn’t get as much time in the Opportunity Center and Creator Studio as I would’ve liked, but it’s definitely something I’ll prioritize next time. All in all, the weekend was nothing short of incredible.

Julian Mitchell: The Visionary Behind Revolt World

Special mention has to go to Julian Mitchell, the strategic mastermind who spearheaded Revolt World’s curation and execution. His leadership and vision were palpable throughout the event, shaping an experience that was as diverse as it was dynamic. From bringing in high-level business insights to creating spaces for creatives of all kinds, Julian ensured that Revolt World became more than just a festival—it was a convergence of culture and opportunity.

Final Thoughts: Revolt World is the Move

Revolt World is truly one of a kind. Where else can you get top-tier business advice, watch a range of talented artists perform, dive into gaming tournaments, check out live shows from popular podcasts, and grab diverse, interesting food all in one place? We were able to add a little extra magic with our cosplayers, and the event goers received us with open arms. Our founder even cosplayed as Jorgen Von Strangle from Fairly OddParents, and people couldn’t get enough. Despite the Georgia heat, everyone was out there fully embracing the event.

And when the performances wrapped, the energy of the space didn’t stop—it just kept going. It’s hard to be at Revolt World and not find a corner where you’re entertained or learning something new.

We were proud to be a part of this event, adding our blerd twist to the culture that was on full display. I can honestly say there’s no other free event offering this much to people of color, and for anyone looking to invest in higher-tier passes, the perks are absolutely worth it. If you’re an entrepreneur or creator of any size, there’s a wealth of resources ready and waiting for you.

I can’t wait to go back next year and bring even more to the table. Revolt World is a space where we can keep building, connecting, and pushing the culture forward.
