Overview

House of David, an upcoming series from the creators of Jesus Revolution, explores the ascent of David, the biblical figure who became Israel’s most celebrated king. Premiering on Prime Video on February 27, 2025, the series is an ambitious retelling of a timeless story, blending faith, drama, and history.

Creative Team and Production

The series is directed and written by Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution) and Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels), with contributions from directors Alexanda La Roche and Michael Nankin. The project is produced collaboratively by Wonder Project, Amazon MGM Studios, Nomadic Pictures, Argonauts, Kingdom Story Company, and Lionsgate Television.

Synopsis

House of David narrates David’s journey from an outcast teenager to a celebrated king. The story also delves into King Saul’s descent into pride and his struggle to maintain power. Under God’s direction, the prophet Samuel anoints David as Saul’s successor, setting the stage for a compelling tale of leadership, destiny, and personal growth.
