Thursday Kicks Off the Dream Con 2026 After Parties Early
Skatercade: Glow in the Dark
Thursday, July 9, 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM at Texas Southern University. This is the third year of the official pre con skating party, and it is 18 plus with ID checks at the door. Skate rentals run five dollars and you can reserve a pair online ahead of time. You need a jam plug on your skates or you are not getting on the floor, so plan ahead. Expect a free arcade area, Just Dance, Michael Jackson the Experience, and a food truck on site.
GCC Comics Day 0 Party
Thursday, July 9, 6 PM to 8:30 PM, hosted by Gulf Coast Cosmos Comics. This anime themed paint and sip comes with anime inspired cocktails, a live Houston DJ blending H Town classics with anime hits, and an ice breaker bingo game. Parking is limited so a rideshare is the smart move.
Black Houston Creatives Network: Creative Flow
Thursday, July 9, 6:30 PM to 10 PM at Sawyer Station. A fashion forward networking night built for culture curators and creative innovators, with Dream Con inspired style encouraged at the door.
808’s and Dancebreaks Hosted by Phantom Nerds
Thursday, July 9, 8 PM to 2 AM at Studioeight08. Hosted by Phantom Nerds and Highlight Reel, this is billed as the official pre convention kickoff party for the whole weekend.
LAN Party: R&B After Dark
Thursday, July 9, 9 PM to 2 AM at Warehouse Live. A late night session built around smooth R&B, good energy, and good company for anyone easing into the weekend.

Most after parties are not affiliated with the official badge, so you do not need a Dream Con wristband to get in. You do need a valid ID for the 18 plus and 21 plus spots, and parking near downtown Houston fills up fast.

Dungeons and Dragons One Shots
Running throughout the weekend on the tabletop floor. Volunteer Dungeon Masters take dreamers on one shot adventures, and the team is still looking for experienced volunteers to run sessions.
Werewolf
Running throughout the weekend on the tabletop floor. A social deduction game in the same family as Among Us and Mafia, with volunteer hosts running each round.
Pokemon TCG Tournament
1v1 tournament, bring your own deck. Ten sign ups or below run best of three rounds, and over ten sign ups move to Swiss rounds before a best of three top eight. Prizes include Pokemon booster boxes from Temporal Forces and Paradox Rift.
