Jezebel Jet: The Crazy and The Rich Fall in Love
What happens when two people who are not only rich but also could be described as slightly insane fall in love? Well, a lot actually. At one point, they will be taking wonderful ski trips together somewhere in the Alps, and at another point, they are trying to kill each other in a secret bat cave. The relationship between JJ (Jezebel Jet) and Bruce Wayne is a rather twisted one that becomes rather sweet. We’ve seen the way he is with Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, but long before he was that way with her, there was a beautiful African Queen that had his attention and his heart. Not his money, though, because she definitely had her own.

JJ (because we really don’t use that disrespectful name DC put on her like that) became the ruler of the African nation of Mtamba after the man who hurt her mother and imprisoned her was stripped of his title and murdered. Good for her. She ended up meeting Bruce Wayne at a fundraiser in London. She showed him around the gallery, and they spent most of the time flirting through art conversation. However, when she decided to speak to someone else and he wanted her number, she refused, citing her disinterest in becoming a “Wayne Girl.” You tell him, JJ! But of course, Bruce kind of likes that.
Jezebel Jet and Bruce Wayne: An Unlikely Love Story
They do, later on, officially become a couple and have their every move monitored not only by the paparazzi and tabloids but by Talia al Ghul. They became so infatuated with each other that they started spilling secrets. She started to speak about her mother, and he talked about his parents. They visited his parents’ graves together, and then she figured out, after a series of unfortunate events, that he was Batman. He didn’t deny it, of course; he instead just started letting her into the Batcave whenever she wanted. That’s some true love right there. He even let her in while he was still partially in his Batsuit. They were definitely in love.
The Downfall of Jezebel Jet
When at some point it turned out she was working for a crime ring, Bruce was obviously hurt and tried to hurt her back by saying he only pretended to be in love with her. Which was a lie because he was full-blown READY to marry her. Before all of this happened anyway. However, the love and care did not go away. When she ended up being murdered by Talia, Bruce was more hurt and even took it upon himself to help take care of her daughter Olivia. He ended up placing her in Nightwing’s care as she was a Nightwing fan. This was definitely a Mr. & Mrs. Smith type of relationship, and for a really long while, Bruce was not accepting any kind of love that wasn’t in the form of chocolate.
Jezebel Jet’s Lasting Impact on Bruce Wayne
JJ was an absolutely amazing woman for him. His loss of her put his mind into focus in the next few books as he didn’t really care for any of the excuses or reasoning Talia tried to give. JJ was his woman. And at the end of the day, she forced him to go backward, and he’s been that way ever since. That’s what happens when the crazy and the rich fall in love.
